I've only participated in one fest and it wasn't annonymous and there weren't time constraints. I is scared. Fests are rumored to be addictive and I'm sitting here pondering signing up for three of them. The first *ahem draco tops* is obvious and I'm also searching through prompts at hp_emofest  and deatheaterfest . The due dates are all in February and March. Will I be smart and sit back to read the amazing fics other people come up with or--Am I crazy?

Wellll. Fests are addicting, that's for sure. I did 3 in November, and I think have signed up for... 4 more? And will be joining in at deatheaterfest at the very least, which makes 5.

So. If you can write reasonably quickly and write well, and don't have a lot of constraints on your time (or can fit fic in anyway XD), go for it. If you're going to do an exchange, make sure that at least some of the people signed up have compatible interests to yours, or writing may be more of a challenge than you want it to be.

Also. Most important thing. Start early. >< I learned this lesson the hard way... it's especially important if you're doing a bunch in one or two months, because if you leave one until the last minute, you kind end up doing that with the others.

Wow! Five fests lol!! You truly are the master of fest fic... or a hopeless addict(I can't tell yet lol).

You've given me a lot to think about. I can write reasonably quickly when I'm inspired and have the time :). My worst fear is waiting til the last minute and having three reasonably large fics to get through in a short amount of time. When I write for myself I'm far from a perfectionist but when I did participate in the one fest I mentioned, even without time constraints I was very anxious and intimidated. So, I'm wondering if I should only do two...

Oh dear... but if I only do two which two will I do? Decisions. Decisions.

Time constraints aren't an issue right now but may be in the future but nothing motivates me to write like procrastinating on other important deadlines ha.
